Aadhaar Updation, Aadhaar update, Aadhaar correction, How to apply for Aadhaar Updation?


Aadhaar Updation


Aadhaar is compulsory for every Indian citizen. Upto now so many lakhs of people enrolled for Aadhaar. In that many people got mistakes in their Aadhaar. Dont worry for that, you can correct your mistakes through three Aadhaar Updation process. In that update process you can send your application through post & can do yourself through Online & can type in online, send the POI (Proof of documents) through Post.


  • Only Name, Gender, DOB (Date of birth), Address & Mobile are the fields you can update presently.


Note: Proof of documents are not required for gender & Mobile number.


Things to remember while sending your application through post:

Download the application form http://www.uidai.gov.in/images/application_form_11102012.pdf

Download the valid list of documents for data update.http://www.uidai.gov.in/images/application_by_post_inst_01112012.pdf


"If you are applying for one mistake also you must fill the  application form fully".
  • Put the tick mark on which field you have to update/ correction.
  • Compulsory write your Aadhaar number.
  • Put tick on gender field.
  • Write DOB (date of birth).
  • Write the address in english and in your regional language. eg: Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, English etc.
Note: At the time of enrollment which regional language you have enrolled,    that regional language only you have to write.
  • Mobile number is mandatory.
Note: Write the number which you have given at the time of enrollment, if you have not given or want to change the number write the new mobile number.
  • Write the Email ID if you have.
  • Mention which document you are attaching with the application.
  a. POI means Proof of document, b. DOB means Date of birth & c. POA means Proof of Address.
  • Keep your signature/ thumbprint at right side.
Attach the valid documents for certain fields you are applying. check out the list of valid list of documents for data update.
Note: 


1) Don't forget to self attest. Self attestation means the person who are applying for update/ correction that person must have to sign/thumbprint on the xerox copy of attached documents. In the case of below 5 years their parents can self attest on the documents.

2) You have to send the application for particular regional office according to your regional language.

When your application is received to particular regional office, you will receive the URN (Update Request Number) to your registered mobile number.

Things to remember while sending your application through Online:

Note:
It consists of three steps:
STEP 1: Login with Aadhaar, 
STEP 2: Submit your Update Request and 
STEP 3: Upload Documents.

Scan and save the valid documents which are self attested. You have to upload the documents in last step.
  • Go to www.uidai.gov.in
  • on the right side u can find update your Aadhaar data. click on it.
  • Click on update data online.
  • At the bottom click on click here.
  • Enter your Aadhaar number and text given below then click on OTP (One time password).
  • You will receive the OTP to your mobile which you have registered at the time of enrollment. If you are not registered apply for new mobile update through post.
  • Enter the text which you have received to your mobile. 
  • Click on which fields you have to update/correction.
Note: 
1) Need not to click on all options. for example u had error in your name make tick on name only. If you have multiple mistakes you can tick on multiple options.
2) In your Aadhaar card if the name mistake is in yours fathers or husbands name you have to select the address option.
3) Make sure on your keyboard capslock key must be off. you can use the shift key for starting letter. After entered your name press the tab key to next box. so that the regional language is automatically translite.
4) If you use english name in capital letters the regional language will not be translited. For that cause your application 
is going to reject.
  • Next upload the scanned document in the last step.
You will receive URN (update Request Number). Save it or take a print of it. It is useful to track your request.


Things to remember while doing request in online and sending the documents through post:
  • As I mentioned in the above type the request in online carefully.
  • Don't go to the upload document link.
  • You will receive the URN generated form which consists of Aadhaar number, URN, corrected details.
"Have to remember when you are going to send documents to particular regional office, attach the URN generated form along with proof of documents".

Your request is going to reject in the cases of:

1) Junk data in the request: When the data in the request field is invalid and   junk data such as "jjjjjj", "ajhfdsj" if request has no meaningful data.

2) Invalid documents: When the request is not supported with a valid POI/ POA.

3) Document not legible: When the scanned document is not clear.

4) Document not self attested: When the doc is not signed by resident.

5) Data mismatch in the doc and update request: When there is mismatch in th entered data and in the document uploaded.

6)Transliteration Error in the request field: When the local language translitration is incorrect.

7) Photo mismatch on POI and Aadhaar

8) Mismatch of Age on document with photo on Aadhaar.

9) Verification call failed: When the resident is not able to answer correctly

10) Resident not reachable: When the resident not able to pick phone at the time time of verification

11) Update declined: If all the fields are correct in request.


  • If all the cases are correct your request will be accepted and new Aadhaar card will be generated.
  • Once Aadhaar number is generated on your name it will not be changed.
  • After updation only the corrections will be changed not the Aadhaar number.
  • For mobile number request only number will be updated in Aadhaar database. 
  • For all other cases new card will be generated.
For receiving of card through post takes some time, So that you can easily download your E-Aadhaar card through online.
